Utando KenyaThe Opportunity Web
Every student in rural Kenya deserves the skills, tools, and networks to thrive. Through digital empowerment, mentorship, and evidence-based interventions, we bridge the educational divide — transforming classrooms into pathways for opportunity, leadership, and community growth.
Our Mission &Approach
Our mission is to empower rural students and transform education by providing holistic support to high school students through academic mentorship, emotional guidance, community engagement, and digital empowerment through comprehensive digital literacy by leveraging research and feasible evidence-based intervention.
Utando Kenya bridges the rural educational divide by providing tools, skills, and opportunities, aiming to reach 50+ schools and 10,000 students by 2029, transforming education into a pathway for transformative education, leadership, entrepreneurship, and community growth. We have already conducted a digital literacy pilot project in summer of 2025 which was informed by our extensive research at the end of 2024. We aim to use this pilot to develop more intervention methods that we hope to share with the ministry of education in the near future. We are also offering scholarship programs for a few high school students and currently supporting two college Students with the help of wellwishers.
